Borderless Entry: Helping an Australian Supplement Brand Enter Malaysia Without a Local Entity

Borderless Entry: Helping an Australian Supplement Brand Enter Malaysia Without a Local Entity

Overview

An Australian sports nutrition brand wanted to test the Malaysian market through e-commerce before committing to
local incorporation. We provided Importer of Record services alongside NPRA registration, enabling them to launch
on Shopee and Lazada within their target 9-month window.

The Challenge
No Malaysian legal entity, no existing NPRA membership, and a 6-product initial range all requiring registration before they could legally sell. Also needed a compliant import structure before their first container shipment.
Our Approach
We onboarded the client as an IoR engagement from day one handling NPRA membership, all 6 product registrations, customs clearance for their first shipment, and coordination with their appointed Shopee and Lazada store manager. Single weekly status report covering registration, import, and logistics simultaneously.
The Outcome
All 6 products registered. First shipment cleared customs and delivered to fulfilment center within the 9- month target. Shopee and Lazada launch achieved on schedule. The client has since expanded to 12 SKUs in Malaysia and planned for Singapore’s registration.
